Support groups at Caris
We know that continuing an unplanned pregnancy can be an overwhelming situation to navigate. At Caris, our on-site support groups are the places where you can come together with women who are going through similar life circumstances. Here you will find support and encouragement while you set goals and plan for your new future.
What is a support group?
A support group is a place where you can share with other women who are also pregnant or parenting. Caris offers support groups at each of our sites. You can get to know each other, ask questions and even make new friends. Many women appreciate just getting away once a week and being with others who understand what they’re going through.
Each support group is guided by one of our professional counselors. The counselor’s role is to help the group process what you’re going through.
Why would I want a support group?
Women tell us that one of the greatest challenges they face with an unplanned pregnancy is that friends and family often can’t relate to what they are going through. This can leave them feeling isolated and alone.
What happens at a support group?
Our groups meet weekly for 1 ½ hours. They are led by one of our Master’s level counselors who will guide the topics and help the group get to know each other. We provide snacks and childcare, and you have the opportunity to earn points toward free diapers and other childcare items.
