After decades of counseling and conducting emotional research, we have a much deeper understanding of two things:
- How a woman really feels when she faces an unplanned pregnancy
- Why so many women feel that abortion is really their only option in this situation
- of women who end a pregnancy state their primary reasons for making that decision were lack of emotional support and lack of practical resources
Pregnancy Counseling Services
All Caris counselors are master’s-level trained mental health professionals.
Our counseling helps a woman navigate the complex emotions surrounding an unplanned pregnancy. Because of a woman’s emotional distress, she needs a safe place to process her feelings. We offer private limited counseling at no cost.
Concerns that are often addressed in counseling include:

The Grace Approach
If a woman expresses a deep desire to continue her pregnancy, then we can begin to help her reframe her view of herself, her circumstances, and her future. We can introduce her to the support and resources available to her, and even identify her own inner strengths. Now she can start to envision a more positive future for herself and her child.
If a woman decides to end her pregnancy, we are still available to provide support for her emotional needs. We commit to supporting every woman facing an unplanned pregnancy, no matter what her decision is. This is one of our core values.

What is your political stance?
Caris is an apolitical nonprofit organization. Our approach is easy, we serve with grace and love and trust God to do the work we are incapable of.
If a woman decides to end her pregnancy?
We are still available to her providing support for her emotional needs. We commit to supporting every woman facing an unplanned pregnancy, no matter what her decision is. This is one of our core values.
Do you provide ultrasound?
Caris partners with a local organization that provides free pregnancy tests and ultrasounds.
What can I expect from a counseling session, how long does it take?
A professional counselor will greet you in the waiting room and invite you to a private room. She will spend time talking with you about what’s going on in your life and how pregnancy may affect it.
What kind of resources can you connect me to?
We are committed to helping you find the support and resources you need during and after an unexpected pregnancy. Free resources, community programs, and our very popular Connection Groups are all excellent options!
Do you provide or refer abortions?
No, we do not. She is welcome to schedule an appointment for post-abortion counseling and our abortion redemption workshop.
